HVAC Service Areas: Menlo Park, Atherton & Portola Valley

Three neighboring towns in San Mateo County and the unincorporated areas between them. A small area keeps drives short and same-day visits realistic, and the technician has usually met your kind of house before.

  • 24/7 emergency service
  • Same-day service available
  • Free installation estimates

We work in three neighboring towns: Menlo Park, Atherton and Portola Valley, plus West Menlo Park and Ladera, the unincorporated areas next to them. The office is in Menlo Park. Every service, from AC repair to heat pump installation, is available across the whole area. What changes from town to town is the house: its age and size, where the equipment sits and how hot the afternoons get.

What shapes the workOlder ductwork, patchy insulation, heat pump retrofitsTwo or more systems or zones, long duct runsOutdoor units on slopes, long refrigerant and electrical runs

Menlo Park sits on the bay side of the hills. Summers are warm and dry, with highs often in the low 80s °F and some hotter spells; winter lows are in the 40s, and some mornings bring marine air. In older homes in neighborhoods such as Belle Haven, The Willows, Allied Arts or Linfield Oaks, leaky ducts and thin insulation limit comfort more often than the size of the furnace. Mature street trees shade many lots, so a house can stay comfortable for years and then struggle once a tree comes down or an addition goes up.

Atherton homes are large and often run two or more systems or zones, with equipment in attics, basements or side yards. In Lindenwood and West Atherton a “no cooling” call may concern one zone of several, and on long duct runs airflow and duct leaks matter as much as the equipment itself.

Portola Valley is a small, wooded foothill town with cooler nights than the bay side and hot summer afternoons. In Westridge, Blue Oaks and neighboring Ladera, the practical questions are where an outdoor unit can sit on a slope and stay quiet, how long the refrigerant and electrical runs will be, and how to keep dust, pollen and wildfire smoke out of the house.

West Menlo Park and Ladera are unincorporated areas rather than towns of their own, and Ladera shares the 94028 ZIP code with Portola Valley. Book exactly as you would anywhere else in the area.
