Most calls start one of three ways: something stopped working, an older system is due for a decision, or part of the house is never comfortable. Every service below is available in Menlo Park, West Menlo Park, Atherton, Ladera and Portola Valley, and every visit starts with a diagnosis.
Cooling
- AC repair: an air conditioner that runs without cooling, short-cycles, leaks water or trips its breaker, including refrigerant leaks, compressor faults and fan motors.
- Emergency AC repair: no cooling in a hot spell when someone at home cannot ride it out, or an AC that smells of burning. Taken 24/7.
- AC installation: adding or replacing an air conditioner on a home that already has a furnace and ducts.
- Central air installation: a complete ducted system for a house with no ducts, or with old ducts that cannot carry cooled air.
- Ductless mini-split installation: indoor units for additions, converted garages and rooms the ducts never reached.
- AC tune-up: coils, drain, electrical parts and refrigerant readings checked each spring.
Heating
- Furnace repair: no heat, a burner that lights and shuts off, short cycling, a noisy blower motor.
- Emergency heating repair: no heat on a cold night, a gas odor, a CO alarm or a burning smell, and what to do in the first minutes.
- Furnace installation: replacing a worn furnace, sized for the house, not copied from the old label.
- Furnace tune-up: burners, ignition, flame sensor, venting and safety switches checked in the fall.
- Heat pump installation: one system for heating and cooling, often replacing a furnace-and-AC pair.
- Heat pump repair: a heat pump that blows cool air in heating mode, stays iced up or leans on backup heat all day.
Air and ducts
- Indoor air quality: filtration, air cleaners, humidifiers and ventilation for dust, allergies, dry winter air and smoke days.
- Duct cleaning: worth it after renovation dust, pests or visible debris; rarely needed just because a few years have passed.
- Duct repair: leaking, disconnected or crushed runs, a common reason one room in an older home never gets comfortable.
Thermostats, audits and upkeep
- Thermostat installation: smart and programmable thermostats wired for the system you have, including heat pumps and zoned homes.
- Energy audits: where the house loses heating and cooling, from attic insulation and air leaks to duct leakage, measured before you spend on new equipment.
- HVAC maintenance plan: yearly cooling and heating visits with filters, coils and safety checks on a schedule.
